“The Guru-effect!”
Could this be the magical x-factor for people to challenge themselves and lead change in their organization? Well, we don’t think so. Once one of our participants called our presence the ‘guru-effect’. Sparkled by the training, atmosphere and energy, everything was possible for him that day. As long as the gurus were there. But tomorrow at the office, everything would be back to normal. How long would our ‘guru effect’ stick? A fruitful discussion about what it takes for an organization to make change work, followed. About learning challenges, personal ambition and company goals. About how to bundle many individual learning paths to realize collective behavioral change. This would not be sparkled by gurus, but by the actual people in the room. Not just today, but everyday.
We are definitely not gurus. Yes, we do bring along a lot to the table, but in true partnership everyone does. We believe in partnership and practical applicability. Partnership, meaning that we can only deliver impact in close collaboration with our clients, leveraging the already present ability of leaders to develop and grow. And practical applicability: we make it impactful through our personalized and practical approach. We are proud to facilitate the journey for, and with, our clients.
Comove is founded by Wouter van Essenberg and Geert Vercaeren. We first met each other at INSEAD’s EMC Organizational Psychology Master program, in 2015. At that time, Geert worked as a senior director in Deloitte’s organizational change practice and Wouter worked as an HR director at Ordina. During the course of the INSEAD program, we both left our jobs to become independent consultants in the area of organizational development, change and leadership.
Since 2017, we started working together on larger client cases, next to our individual coaching and consulting practices. In doing so, we found out that together we strengthened each other and came to better solutions for our clients. We believe that the foundation of our successful collaboration lies in our shared values. Through our professional background, we have much in common, which allows us to quickly understand each other. And we also have many different, complementary skills and experiences. Through our solid base of trust we dare to explore and utilize our differences, which enables us to develop truly impactful solutions for our clients.
Now, having delivered many leadership trajectories with clients, we know what works and what doesn’t. Each client and each program is different, and yet we always leverage our past experience to get to the best approach.
And we have only just begun. We look forward to continue creating impact together with our clients.
